Our Story and the Team Behind Hills Edge Automotive
The Sieg family moved the business to its present location in 1963, and because of its beautiful surroundings and breathtaking views, the name was changed to Hills Edge Auto Sales Inc in 1972.
For more than six decades, the Sieg family owned and operated the business, building a reputation for dependable automotive repair, body work, and honest service.
Owning Hills Edge was especially meaningful for Jerrid, as it was the first dealership that he worked at. Today, he is proud to carry on the tradition of quality service that customers have trusted for generations.
Hills Edge Automotive works on all makes and models, offering mechanical repairs, tire services, collision repair, and custom paint jobs. The team takes pride in doing the job right and providing the kind of honest, dependable service the community has relied on for decades.
Meet Our Team
Jerid Allen
Owner-Service Writer/Lead Technician
Jerrid has over 30 years experience in the Automotive business with all ASE certifications. While in high School, he worked for small auto shops in the area and later worked for his parents as they owned and operated an auto shop in Hot Springs. He would later move on to larger shops, learning the ropes in a Dealership setting where he gained much knowledge and experience at all levels. He spent many years as an auto tech for the Siegs here at Hills Edge. He would then move on to GMC of Chadron and later to Lamb Chevrolet in Prescott AZ. After 2020 hit, he decided it was time to move back to SD to be closer to family and start his own Automotive Repair shop. After 1 year of operating his own business, he was offered to take over the Dealership at Hills Edge Auto Sales. He and his wife of 26 years jumped at the opportunity as a way to better serve the community they Love. When not running a shop or working on cars, he enjoys all things family and outdoors. He is blessed to work with his oldest son, teaching him the ways of a trade that is fading quickly. A daughter attending college at UNL for health and human services and his youngest boy will be moving into High School next year. He loves to watch his son play baseball, hike, camp, fish, take vacations with his family and spend special time with his grandson.
Jade Allen
Owner/Office Manager
Jade has many years experience in the Administrative and Customer service world. At the age of 15 she was working to serve our Nations Hero's at the State Veterans home. She later moved on to the VA Medical Center for almost 10 years. After the birth of her 3rd child she decided to take on a more flexible job, becoming a Real Estate Agent, licensed in both Arizona and South Dakota. After 9 years of Real Estate, earning "Top Producer" awards multiple times, she decided to join her husband and son in the operations of a Dealership business. Her role at Hills Edge Auto is to greet customers, maintain and organize file systems, process payroll, respond to emails/voicemails, support the Auto shop operations and manage all administrative tasks, etc. When not working, Jade enjoys remodeling/painting her home, visiting her daughter in college, hiking, camping and fishing with her family, watching her son play baseball and spending time with her new grandbaby.
Jaamis Allen
Owner-Mechanic/Desk Support/Body Shop Technician
Jaamis has been exposed to the Automotive world since he was very young. His grandfather owned and operated a local mechanic shop and his father has been a mechanic/technician since he was born. After graduating from Arizona in 2021, he moved back to South Dakota to help his dad open and operate Jerrid's Ag and Auto in Smithwick SD. In 2022, he became the right hand man at Hills Edge Auto Sales when his parents took over the business. Jaamis provides support in all aspects of the family business. He started as a lube tech and has worked his way up, from phones to automotive repairs, currently adding body shop technician to his resume. He is motivated and willing to jump in and learn wherever he can. When he is not at the shop, Jamo enjoys spending time with his family. He likes to fish and camp and loves to ski.
Cameron Weiss
Lead Mechanic/Technician
Cameron started as a lube tech with the previous owners and now serves as the Lead Technician for Hills Edge. Known for his honest approach and attention to detail, he is a great asset to our team. Cameron works hard and continues to learn all that he can in this fast changing industry. He works closely with team members and helps to guide and mentor others. When he is not working on cars, he enjoys time with his family. He loves camping, fishing, watching wrestling and attending Hot Springs school sports events
Jacob Harris
Mechanic/Technician
Jacob came to us as a High School Intern growing his love for the Automotive Industry. During his internship at Hills Edge, he gained much exposure through hands on training and job shadowing. After graduating in 2022, we hired Jacob as a full time Lube Tech. Over the years, Jacob has learned a vast amount of skill sets within the shop. He is a hard worker and will step into any role he is asked. Jacob enjoys working and staying busy, he takes pride in his work and is dedicated to taking great care of our customers. When he's not working on cars he enjoys time with his family. He likes to fix things and loves to golf.
